No one pays attention to this brand in France, but it offers very reliable cars that hardly ever go to the garage.
Reliability is the most decisive aspect when buying a new car. Although this brand is one of the most outstanding in this field, its cars have little commercial success.

When it comes to reliability, several manufacturers still top the rankings compiled by independent organizations that analyze the number of problems with the cars they produce. It is well known that it is mainly the Japanese brands that emphasize reliability and among them it is usually Toyota which, through its own brand or its high-end subsidiary Lexus, wins the prize. reliability.

However, according to the UFC-Que Choisir and Euroconsumers associations, a third manufacturer slipped into last year’s report, between the two brands of the Japanese consortium. As it should, it also belongs to the land of the rising sun and, both in France and in the rest of Europe, it has little commercial importance.

It’s Subaru. In the reliability report launched by UFC-Que Choisir and Euroconsumers in 2022, the historical Japanese firm became the second most reliable brand in Europe thanks to the 93 points awarded by the corporation, placing it between Lexus, which took the first place with 95 points, and Toyota, which obtained 91 points.

The company currently markets seven different models, three of which use hybrid engines and one, the Solterra, is 100% electric.

Of all these vehicles, the most commercially successful last year was the Subaru XV, a 4.49-meter-long C-SUV that starts at 35,990 euros in France in its most affordable hybrid version. Last year, the XV reached a total of 211,800 registrations worldwide, ranking 71st in the global sales rankings. The brand’s second best-selling model is the Outback, with a total of 188,100 registrations worldwide, according to a market analyst.

The new Subaru XV packs the huge off-road capabilities of its bigger siblings into a compact 4.48 meter body.

All-wheel drive, a different engine that gains in efficiency thanks to hybridization and a very complete list of equipment make it one of the most efficient alternatives in the compact SUV category; the fundraising campaign makes it even more attractive.

In terms of safety, the Subaru XV offers things like the Forward View Monitor, which warns of the presence of obstacles in front of the car – which the driver may not be aware of due to their position. In addition, the EyeSight system completes the list of driving aids with intelligent cruise control, active lane departure warning, automatic braking, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert.

The most powerful variant of the Subaru XV can be configured in two trim levels, Sport Plus and Executive Plus. The first offers 18-inch rims, adaptive LED headlights, front seat heating, dual air conditioning, steering wheel paddle shifters, electronic handbrake, seven airbags and a reversing camera, among many other characteristics. The Executive Plus level adds two-tone leather upholstery, a power sunroof, rear parking sensors, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and keyless entry and start, among other things.
