No one can demand that we not talk about Palestine

With harsh expressions, Recep Tayyip Erdogan referred to Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking at the 5th conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Platform on Jerusalem that took place in Istanbul. At the same time he sharply criticized the US, stood by Hamas and said that no one can silence him and demand that he not support the Palestinians.

Once again likening Netanyahu to Hitler and the Nazis, he said Israel killed more than 15,000 children in Gaza. “Netanyahu has written his name in history with shame as the slaughterer of Gaza. This stigma does not go away no matter what he does,” he said and continued: “Like any criminal, whose crimes are told to his face, the Israeli government thinks it can silence us. They think they can cover up the murders with the power of the press and lobbies. No matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, it’s futile. You cannot put chains on Tayyip Erdogan’s heart. We will never give in to your threats and pressures.”

Escalating his angry speech even further, he unleashed curses on Netanyahu: “O Netanyahu, my wish is this: Lord, show yourself as Almighty and lead these Zionists, especially Netanyahu, to destruction.”

Once again, the Turkish president repeated that Hamas is not a terrorist organization: “We cannot be among those who slander Hamas as a terrorist organization just because Israel and its Western supporters want it.”

“We cannot label the Palestinian resistance fighters as terrorists,” as do the “legionaries” and “mercenaries” who are “servants of Israel,” he said, and once again likened the actions of Hamas to that of the Kemalist forces. of Turkish nationalists during the Asia Minor War.

“We will not shy away from expressing this truth with courage from every step, as long as we have a voice and as much as our strength allows. We will continue to support the Palestinian cause and the noble and honorable resistance of our brothers in Gaza with our voice, our words, our prayers, our humanitarian aid and all the means at our disposal. I clearly expressed our firm position on this issue to the Hamas political leadership I met with last week. I clearly said to those brothers whose children, grandchildren and relatives were martyred in the Israeli attacks that we share their pain,” he added, preceded by his characteristic statement that “he is walking this road wearing his shroud for clothing.” that is, that he is ready even to die for the struggle he is waging.

Addressing specifically the United States, he argued that it is a “great shame and injustice” that the Palestinian people are not a full member of the UN. “The step taken in this direction in the Security Council last week faced the US veto and was blocked. With this decision, the US also ignored the will of other member states of the Security Council. We do not accept this decision. With its unconditional military and diplomatic support for Israel, the US government is not contributing to the solution. It causes the problem to grow even more.”

“Turkey is a country that has never committed genocide, has never been a colonialist, has never touched innocents in any period of its history that exceeds 2000 years,” he argued, among other things.

Finally, the Turkish president once again denied the claims that the Kurecik allied base in eastern Turkey provided information during Iran’s attack on Israel, saying that the particular radar center cannot have relations, links or contacts with any state but the security of Turkey and the Alliance.
