No lockdown; Interstate travel control under discussion | Covid | Lockdown

NEW DELHI: As the country goes through its strongest Kovid expansion, the Center has started deliberations on whether to restrict inter-state travel. It is examining whether there should be regulation on rail and air services. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called an emergency meeting yesterday to assess the situation in Kovid.

It was attended by the Chairman of the Railway Board and the Secretary of Civil Aviation. The Prime Minister directed the various Ministries to ensure strict control over the current situation. While reiterating that there will be no lockdown nationally, the Center is of the view that domestic air and inter-state travel should be restricted.

In particular, travel between major cities with greater expansion. The current proposal is that interstate travel should not be banned. The Prime Minister will hold discussions with the Chief Ministers regarding Kovid. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandav will hold talks with state health ministers today.

Reserve dose from today

New Delhi / Thiruvananthapuram: With the third wave of Kovid strong, the third dose (reserve dose) vaccination will begin today in the country. The reserve dose is currently available to health care providers, Kovid fighters, and those over 60 with other illnesses who have been vaccinated with the two-dose vaccine for 9 months (39 weeks). The Ministry of Health said that although those over 60 do not need a special medical certificate, it would be advisable to seek a doctor’s opinion.
