If no disruption is expected on the rail, some TEC routes will be removed.
On the side of the socialist union, several rallies are planned during this day of action. This will be the case in Marche-en-Famenne, Liège, La Louvière, Eupen, Brussels and Antwerp.
In addition to joint actions with the FGTB in Brussels and Marche, the CSC has planned several actions with the distribution of leaflets and chocolates – taking advantage of Valentine’s Day – to highlight the importance of the automatic wage indexation mechanism . This will be the case in Liège, Verviers, Mons, La Louvière but also in Charleroi. Other actions are planned in western Hainaut, in Froyennes, Mouscron and in the Ghislenghien area.
This mobilization should have consequences in terms of mobility and transport. Many routes on the TEC network are already mentioned as deleted in Walloon Brabant, Charleroi, Hainaut, Liège-Verviers and Namur-Luxembourg. Disturbances will be regularly updated on the TEC website. In Flanders, around 65% of De Lijn buses and trams will run, the transport company said.
In Brussels, Stib has announced that its staff will not participate in the actions. Local and temporary deviations are nevertheless possible, according to spokesperson An Van Hamme. These will be listed on the STIB’s website and Twitter account.
At SNCB, no particular disruption is expected on the occasion of the mobilization day.
These actions are a continuation of those carried out by the unions to defend purchasing power for several months. In mid-December, a nationwide demonstration gathered more than 16,000 people in Brussels.
