The Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, launched on October 3, 2022, two projects in the Province of Chefchaouen, namely, the Port Jebha extension works (2nd phase) and the work to protect the Jebha center against flooding.
The Jebha port is a port of regional importance for coastal and artisanal fishing, the activity of which has tripled in a few years. It was the subject of a first phase of major works for a new 145-meter-long quay and the restructuring of the port basin, which were completed in 2017.

On this occasion, Nizar Baraka insisted on the economic effects: “The impact of this project is to benefit 300 fishermen and their families and various related trades affecting the fishing activity. The expected effect is to breathe new life into the region through the development of fishing activity coupled with tourist activity”.
