YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan presented the Nissan Hyper Tourer, the third advanced concept in its series of electric vehicles (EV) that will be shown at the Japan Mobility Show, starting October 25th. The Nissan Hyper Tourer will physically be at the Nissan stand at the event.

Being a fully electric minivan, the novelty focuses on feeding and strengthening the bond between people while traveling together. The Nissan Hyper Tourer concept is aimed at individuals who appreciate the finer things in life and enjoy the company of friends and companions, whether on a road trip or a business trip.

The Nissan Hyper Tourer combines the essence of omotenashi (Japanese hospitality) with several advanced technologies, including autonomous driving. The V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) functionality and high-capacity battery also enable it to supply electricity to homes, stores and offices, during travel and on various business occasions.

The exterior, which conveys a sense of interior comfort, is composed of smooth body panels and sharp lines, which demonstrate traditional Japanese beauty, and its imposing appearance harmonizes with the surrounding landscape. The sides flow diagonally from the front to the rear bumper for greater aerodynamic performance and the smooth driving impression resulting from the combination of EV and autonomous driving. The white beltline serves as the signature headlight and lamp, while the patterned wheels kumiko and the smooth, straight line of the body creates a premium feel beyond the concept’s class.

The spacious interior is made possible by Nissan’s electric vehicle technology vision, which consolidates compact components and energy-dense solid-state batteries to create innovative solutions. The result is an ultra-low center of gravity that, when combined with the vehicle’s advanced e-4ORCE integral control system, produces smooth, flat acceleration and deceleration.

The overhead console and lighting feature traditional Japanese kumiko e koushi which create a feeling of luxury, while the flat LED panel on the floor displays images of a riverbed and the sky, helping to create a relaxing space where digital and nature merge.

Fully autonomous driving allows those in the driver’s seat to focus on interacting with their fellow travelers. The front seats can rotate 360 degrees, allowing front and rear seat passengers to have face-to-face interactions.

Rear seat passengers can use a screen to view and operate navigation and audio on the front seat center screen, creating a sense of unity among all occupants. Additionally, an innovative artificial intelligence system can monitor biometric signals – including brain waves, heart rate, breathing and perspiration – and automatically select complementary music and adjust lighting according to your mood.

With the Nissan Hyper Tourer concept, Nissan reinvents group travel, combining the comfort of a luxurious living room with the convenience of a multi-passenger van – all in a sleek, futuristic package.
