Nissan further accelerates its electrification strategy

In line with expanding the business under this vision, Nissan is announcing new initiatives related to its electrification strategy.

Through these efforts, Nissan will further promote the democratization of electric vehicles and models equipped with its e-POWER powertrain technology, to satisfy the specific needs of each market, improve the competitiveness of its development and manufacturing areas worldwide. and further accelerate its electrification strategy to deliver on its Nissan Ambition 2030 strategic plan.

Further accelerate the electrification of its models to satisfy the diverse and growing needs of its customers

As part of the Nissan Ambition 2030 vision, Nissan has announced its plan to launch 23 electrified vehicles – including 15 electric models – by 2030. To respond to changing customer needs and the business environment, Nissan has revised its plan to further accelerate electrification.

Nissan will increase model numbers to meet customers’ growing need for exciting and diverse electrified vehicles with the launch of 27 new electrified models, including 19 new electric models, by fiscal 2030. Nissan’s and INFINITI’s electrified model mix is ​​expected to increase to over 55% by 2030 worldwide, compared to the previous forecast of 50%.

In line with advancing penetration of electrified vehicles, Nissan’s latest sales forecast for its electrified model mix in major markets in fiscal 2026 is:

  1. Europe: 98% (up from the previous percentage of 75%*)
  2. Japan: 58% (up from the previous percentage of 55%*)
  3. China: 35% (versus the previous percentage of 40%*
  4. United States: 40%* (electrified vehicles only; through FY 2030)

This will allow it to increase the sales mix of electrified vehicles worldwide from the 40% forecast when the vision was announced to over 44% by fiscal 2026. created specifically for China in 2024. In Europe, Nissan will continue its robust electrification plans and will also explore an even stronger collaboration with the Alliance.

Greater engagement with greater customer value creation

Nissan intends to further improve the customer experience through personalized services, favoring long-term engagement. Nissan will leverage its Connected Vehicle Services strategy by enriching in-car content, enabling tailored functions to meet changing customer needs. The company intends to achieve this goal through Software Defined Vehicle technology and is already demonstrating this through the current electric architecture that equips the Nissan Ariya and will also be available in more models in the coming years.
