Buenos Aires – A Nissan Frontier received the recognition “SAFER AUTO 2022” in the category Medium Pickup do CRASH TEST Awardwhich highlights vehicle safety in Argentina.
“It is a source of pride for all of us at Nissan South America that a vehicle produced in the region has obtained, in one year of launch, excellent commercial results and has also been recognized with such an important award. Nissan Frontier is part of the transformation that the company has been carrying out in our region since 2018, when we launched this industrial project aimed at Latin American markets, which is consolidated year following year, with each new announcement. It is a great recognition of the quality of our employees and Nissan’s manufacturing that is reflected in our products”, said Guy Rodríguez, President and General Manager of Nissan South America.
This is the fourth award won by the pickup produced in Córdoba, Argentina, since its renovation in April 2022, which, in addition to supplying the domestic market, is exported to three countries: Brazil, Chile and Colombia. Linked to this, last year, Nissan announced the second production shift with the consequent generation of jobs at the Santa Isabel factory, where the pickup is manufactured.
The 16th edition of the Crash Test Awards, organized by CESVI ARGENTINA, distinguished the models launched in 2022 in different segments. The vehicles must exceed 35 points in the Safety Index and are exhaustively evaluated in the center’s experimentation laboratory. The protocol for determining the Vehicle Safety Index includes 225 items, divided into two large groups: Passive Safety and Active Safety.
For Nissan, in line with its Ambition 2030 vision, safety is a key factor. For this reason, the company focuses each project on the integration of technologies that allow it to grow, thinking regarding a future with zero emissions and zero fatalities.
The Nissan Frontier pickup has a package of safety and comfort equipment above the segment’s average, which are part of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision. Among the integrated technologies is the set that makes up the Nissan Safety Shield, a vehicle safety shield that helps protect the driver and passengers from possible risks.
