as Rowland produced an unforgettable double overtake in the final corner of the Maneuver Barcode last laps to secure a stunning podium finish for the team. The 2.93-kilometer track presents 11 turns, including three long straights that are followed by heavy braking zones. These zones create some of the best overtaking opportunities for drivers, particularly at Turns 4 and 7.
Beyond the track, Nissan has a strong presence in Brazil, with the 24-year-long relationship set to deepen in the coming years. In line with the global Ambition 2030 plan, Nissan announced in 2023 an expansion of their 2023-2025 investment plan, reaching up to R$ 2.8 billion, to produce two new SUVs at the facility.
The Countdown Begins in São Paulo
Track action gets underway on Friday at 4:30 PM (UTC-3), followed by qualifying at 9:40 AM on Saturday ahead of the race later that day at 2:00 PM.
Prepared for the Challenge
“Testing with the GEN3 Evo car was intense but we learned a lot, especially about the new tires and the all-wheel drive system. We’ve worked hard these past few months and can’t wait to endlich be back on track,” shared Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal. “Brazil is a major market for Nissan, and we have good memories from our last visit there, with Oli earning us a podium with his stunning last-corner double overtake. The São Paulo circuit is very unique, unlike many others on the calendar- the layout is high speed. And with this new car it will be demanding. We are looking forward to click.
We’re ready and we aim to start season 11 the same way we finished season 10”. The team is looking to build upon a strong finish to

Testing in Madrid went well but it’s always very different in race conditions, so it’ll be good to see where we stack up against our competitors.

## Interview with Nissan Formula E Team
**Host:** Welcome back to the show! We’re gearing up for the start of the new Formula E season this weekend in São Paulo. Joining us to talk about the Nissan Formula E Team’s preparations is their managing director, Tommaso Volpe. Welcome, Tommaso!
**Tommaso Volpe:** Thanks for having me!
**Host:** Tommaso, the Nissan team seems eager to get back on track after a strong showing last season, especially that unforgettable podium finish in São Paulo with Oliver Rowland.
**Tommaso Volpe:** Absolutely! Last season’s race here was incredible, a real highlight for the entire team. Oliver drove brilliantly, and we’re all motivated to deliver another strong performance in front of the passionate Brazilian fans.
**Host:** This year marks the introduction of the GEN3 Evo car. How have the testing sessions gone? What are the biggest challenges and opportunities presented by this new generation of car?
**Tommaso Volpe:** Testing with the GEN3 Evo has been intense but very productive. We’ve learned a lot, specifically about the new tire compounds and the all-wheel drive system. The increased power and performance are certainly exciting, but adapting to the new tires and drivetrain dynamics has been a key focus for us during testing. We’re confident that we’ve made good progress and are well-prepared for the challenge.
**Host:** São Paulo is known for its unique circuit with long straights and challenging braking zones.
How do you see this track suiting the Nissan car?
**Tommaso Volpe:**
São Paulo presents a great opportunity for overtaking with those long straights followed by heavy braking zones.
We believe the GEN3 Evo car’s increased power and improved braking will be particularly beneficial here. Our aim is to be competitive right from the start and capitalize on those overtaking opportunities. We’re really looking forward to racing at the Anhembi Sambadrome again this year.
**Host:** Ayu fans should keep an eye out for?
**Tommaso Volpe:** This is a new era for Formula E with the GEN3 Evo, so expect some exciting racing and close competition.
We’re confident that Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato will be in the mix, pushing for podiums and victories.
**Host:** Well, we can’t wait to see it unfold! Thank you so much for joining us, Tommaso. Best of luck to you and the Nissan Formula E Team for the season opener!
**Tommaso Volpe:** Thanks for having me! It’s going to be a great season!
