Nintendo warns against using mobile phone chargers to charge Switch! as this may damage the port.

As we all know, the Nintendo Switch uses a USB-C port, which is a standard of today’s devices. Many applications may have switched out the charging cable of the smartphone. The tablet comes to charge on the Switch sometime, but the latest it seems that the behavior may not be good at all.

When the official Nintendo Support account tweeted: Don’t use a mobile charger to charge your Nintendo Switch! as this may damage the port. with the following message: “When charging the Nintendo Switch with a non-Nintendo Switch charging cable, such as a smartphone charger, It may damage the Switch’s charging cable or USB port. Please check if it is the correct cable.”

Nintendo also added regarding the Nintendo Switch charging issues. The Switch should not be left unattended for a long time. It is recommended to keep charging every 6 months if not playing for a long time, otherwise there may be problems charging.

So if you really don’t want to have problems, it is recommended that you use the accessories that come in the box, probably the best. Whatever the device, it’s best to use what came in the box.
