Nintendo Switch unstoppable in Japan sets new records

Nintendo’s hybrid console continues to mark the history of the industry with its continued success.

At the start of the year, we were already learning via Famitsu and Gamesindustry.biz that in 2021 in Japan, the Nintendo Switch sold better than all the other consoles combined. With no less than 24.6 million consoles having found a buyer on the Nippon archipelago, as much to say that Nintendo has managed to find the winning recipe and that the Switch still has a bright future ahead of it. It is not impossible that it even manages to overcome the astronomical statistics of the Gameboy and the DS which are at the top of the podium with 32.5 million and 32.9 million consoles sold.

Nintendo’s strength lies in its ability to innovate and use its flagship licenses wisely.
