New leaks are currently saying that Nintendo is working with NVIDIA on a new SoC for the Nintendo Switch. This might be the chip of the successor console or a new revision.
In the meantime, it has almost become a tradition to find out regarding a potential one every year Nintendo Switch Pro to speak. Again and once more we get rumors and supposed leaks that Nintendo is working on a new, more powerful version of the popular Hybrid-Konsole is working. So far, however, only a light and a OLED Model released, but not the pro version I was hoping for. Just in time for the fifth birthday, another leak has now appeared, which has its origins in NVIDIA’s DLSS source code. The corresponding data came due to a Cyberattack to the public.
It is made explicit in DLSS 2.2 source code the abbreviation several times NVN2 mentioned. This may not seem interesting at first, but the abbreviation is very reminiscent of the name of the original Switch SoC NVN. Accordingly, it is reasonable to assume that the NVN2 might be a successor or a new revision of the graphics solution. Also, within the code reference is made to the graphics accelerator T234 and T239 referenced. The latter is therefore an adapted T234 graphics chip, which was mentioned last year in connection with a new switch version. With the new SoC might also DLSS as Ray tracing capabilities find their way to the console.

Of course, this is only leaked data so far, which should initially be viewed with caution. So far, neither NVIDIA nor Nintendo have officially commented on a new Switch revision. Just last year denied the manufacturer has yet to hear any rumors of a more powerful version of the hybrid console, and a successor also seems some time away. After all, Nintendo said at the last investor conference that the Nintendo Switch was only halfway through its lifespan. At this point, the console might already over 100 million time to sell, making it the manufacturer’s most successful home console.
