Even if the arrival of Super Mario Bros. Wonder risks eclipsing most of the other October releases on Nintendo Switch, players are still frankly spoiled at the end of 2023. And if the original titles aren’t enough for you, you can always catch up on essentials such as Borderlands 3 or Batman: Arkham Trilogy, finally available on Switch.
Front Mission 2 : Remake
In the wake of Front Mission 1st: Remake, the sequel to the famous tactical role-playing game originally developed by Squaresoft over 25 years ago will also be entitled to its proper overhaul. Even if the conversion to a console such as the Switch once once more promises to be a little light, it will finally allow those who missed it at the time to discover a sure value of Tactical-RPG.
Announced for October 5 on Nintendo Switch, this new version will take care of dusting off the fundamentals of the license while preserving the finesse of its narration. Front Mission 2: Remake takes place a dozen years following the Second Huffman Conflict as the Alordesh army rises up to declare its independence from the OCU (Oceania Cooperative Union). A small group of survivors will try to flee, discovering in the process the nature of a gigantic conspiracy.
Among the additions proposed by this remake, fans should appreciate the translation into several languages (including French)reduced loading times, the new free camera, the completely reorchestrated soundtrack and many other elements aimed at modernizing the gaming experience.

The Return of Detective Pikachu
Released in spring 2018 on 3DS, Detective Pikachu was the first game in the Pokémon franchise to dare to slip its mascot into the panoply of an ersatz Sherlock Holmes. In addition to its new game mechanics using the usual framework of police investigations, the title presented an original story with a Pikachu with a deep voice and capable of expressing himself in our language… A concept that we might find in 2019 in the eponymous live-action film adaptation, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu.
The return of Detective Pikachu of course announces a direct sequel to this formula, but this time the investigation takes place on Switch. Scheduled for October 6, this colorful and humorous adventure game should see Pikachu team up with Tim, the son of Harry Goodman who was his former partner in the first part. With the help of their Pokémon allies, the two friends will try to lift the veil on a new series of mysteries in the heart of the Ryme City metropolis. This city has the particularity of seeing humans and Pokémon coexist, each member of the duo being able to communicate with one of the two species…

Sonic Superstars
Sega’s hedgehog and his whole gang are hitting all current media at great speed and the Switch is no exception. October 17 will be dedicated to Sonic Superstars to the delight of nostalgic fans who were just waiting for this opportunity to rediscover the old-fashioned formula with its levels worthy of a roller coaster. The production of this completely new episode made the choice of 2.5D in environments that inevitably evoke those of the very first parts of the franchise.
Playable with 4 players on a single console and up to 8 participants online, Sonic Superstars lets us play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy in pursuit of the Emerald Powers that will allow them to emerge victorious from this new series of challenges. License fans can expect a few surprises in terms of action capabilities since it should be possible to clone yourself, slow down time, go up waterfalls and many other discoveries of the same style. Skull Island : Rise of Kong
Despite a rather confusing artistic direction, the arrival of Skull Island: Rise of Kong on our gaming machines at least has the merit of trying to resurrect a real “monster” of the cinema. It must be said that we have not seen the primate in a video game since the famous King Kong from Ubisoft in 2005 which adapted the famous Peter Jackson film. But before hastily judging the potential of this action game which did not wow the crowds when its first trailer was released, you should know that this is an adaptation of the recent animated series of the same name broadcast on Netflix.
