Nintendo Switch 2: new patent suggests possible look of the console

The rumors regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 continue to emerge and this time, the possible look of the successor to Big N’s hybrid console may have been revealed. At least, that’s what can be interpreted when faced with the registered patent by the company in recent days.

In total, there are four sketches with drawings that suggest what the company’s gaming device would look like. In this sense, it should take a very different direction compared to the current model, in addition to leaving some doubts regarding the absence of some buttons.

As you can see in the image, the Switch 2 would have a rectangular look with straight lines compared to what is currently seen in Nintendo’s portfolio. In addition, there is a joystick on the left and action buttons on the right, as well as volume and headphone jack buttons on the top.

In other words, it seems that Big N will abandon the detachable Joy-Con that exist in the traditional version of the current console, adopting something more in the style of the Lite variant. However, the absence of the second analogue and the D-Pad is noted, which raises doubts regarding the design of the product.

Furthermore, the patent also shows the implementation of the “Home” button on the bottom of the portable console, along with what appear to be the product’s speakers. Meanwhile, the input for game cartridges and wired headphones remains at the top. Finally, the record also suggests that the screen will be touch sensitive.

In any case, there is no confirmation that this look will actually be adopted on the next Switch, so we can only wait for news. Finally, check out the latest rumors regarding the console’s successor, as well as last week’s promotions.
