From surprise, to Nintendo announced yesterday your own music streaming app: Nintendo Music. Available only to subscribers of Nintendo Switch Onlinethe platform has an interface very similar to YouTube Music and features music from the company’s main game franchises over the decades.
Available for iPhone and other “smart devices”, Nintendo Music features a vast catalog and playlists curated by the company’s editors, as well as recommendations based on your playback history, although it is also possible to create your own playlists. Like other apps of this type, you can download music to listen offline and share them with friends.

Despite following the formula of other platforms, the app has its selection of features focused on gamers. There is, for example, an option that allows you to block music from a certain game, avoiding spoilers. You can also put songs on a loop or extend them to 15, 30 or 60 minutes, which is great for when you want to spend extra time with a specific soundtrack.
As mentioned, Nintendo Music already features compositions from a variety of famous Nintendo franchises. Big Nlike The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario e Animal Crossingbut the company has promised that it will add even more songs as time goes on.
Despite requiring a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, the new app does not require the user to have a Nintendo Switch to use it. Furthermore, all members of a family plan of the service are entitled to use the application, which is a good alternative for those who want to save a few bucks.
Nintendo Switch Online comes out R$20 monthly, R$40 for three months or R$100 for one year; the family plan, in turn, costs R$175/ano. The list of countries where Nintendo Music can be downloaded can be checked here —fortunately, it includes Brazil e Portugal.

**Interview with Nintendo Music Product Manager, Alex Tavares**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Alex! The announcement of Nintendo Music has certainly generated a lot of excitement. Can you give us an overview of what Nintendo Music is and what motivated its creation?
**Alex Tavares:** Absolutely! Nintendo Music is a dedicated streaming platform designed specifically for our Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. We wanted to create an experience where fans could immerse themselves in the soundtracks from our beloved game franchises, like *The Legend of Zelda*, *Super Mario*, and *Animal Crossing*. The motivation behind it was to enhance the gaming experience by allowing players to connect with the music that accompanies their favorite adventures.
**Editor:** That sounds fantastic! One of the unique features highlighted is the ability to block music from certain games. Can you explain why that is important for gamers?
**Alex Tavares:** Great question! Spoilers can be a big concern for gamers, especially with beloved franchises that have rich narratives. By allowing users to block tracks from a specific game, we’re giving them the option to avoid potential spoilers and fully enjoy the experience as they play. It’s all about tailoring the app to meet gamer preferences and preserving the excitement of discovery.
**Editor:** The app also supports offline listening and custom playlists. How does Nintendo Music stand out from other music streaming services?
**Alex Tavares:** While we’ve designed an interface that feels familiar, we’re focusing on features that resonate with gamers. Custom playlists and the ability to loop tracks for extended listening are particularly beneficial for those who want to surround themselves with a certain vibe while gaming or working. Plus, our music library is exclusively Nintendo, which we believe gives it a unique charm that other platforms simply can’t offer.
**Editor:** Looking ahead, what can users expect in terms of additional music and features?
**Alex Tavares:** We’re committed to expanding the catalog continually. We have a vast selection already available, but we have plans to add more songs from both classic and upcoming titles. Additionally, we’re always open to user feedback to enhance their experience, so additional features and improvements will come based on what our fans want.
**Editor:** Thank you, Alex! It sounds like Nintendo Music is shaping up to be an exciting addition for fans. Is there anything else you’d like to share?
**Alex Tavares:** Just a gratitude to our fans for their ongoing support! We hope they enjoy this new way to connect with our game music and look forward to more updates and expansions in the future.
**Editor:** Thank you for your time today, Alex! We can’t wait to see how Nintendo Music evolves.
