Criticized for its technique and its graphics but adored for its gameplay and its open world, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet continues its journey thanks to a second DLC. While we were expecting it for this winter, the official release date has just been revealed, and you might well be surprised!
A release date closer than expected?
If there is one Pokémon game that has caused ink to flow, it is the Scarlet and Violet version released on November 18, 2022. While it broke all sales records for the saga and finally offered a true open world for the first time in the entire history of Pokémon (apart from Pokémon Go, which is difficult to beat in this area), this latest version also disappointed many players. Indeed, the game is a real technical and graphic disaster to the point that it is not uncommon to have to deal with major slowdowns while the environment resembles a Gamecube game more than a Nintendo Switch game. Fortunately for this version, the technique and graphics are not everything, and the rest of what it might offer was simply exhilarating controller in hand.
While Pokémon Scarlet and Purple Version had just received its first DLC entitled The Buried Treasure of Zone Zero: The Turquoise Mask at the start of the 2023 school year, Nintendo has revealed the release date for the second part of the latter. If until now we had to be content with a very vague “Winter 2023” which suggested a release at the very end of the year, we now know that The Buried Treasure of Zone Zero: The Indigo Disc will be released on December 14! If we stay with an end-of-year release, we might well talk regarding an advanced release compared to the original date since winter will not arrive until December 22. If you’re already itching to get out your game once more to discover a whole new area, you only have a little more than a month to wait.
A DLC that should add a lot of Pokémon to the list
Since the Sword/Shield version, Nintendo has chosen to limit the number of Pokémon obtainable in the same version. So, you might not be able to play with your favorite Pokémon in Scarlet and Purple even if you wanted to transfer it from an older version. Fortunately, the arrival of Pokémon DLC also means expanding the number of Pokémon available in the version. With The Buried Treasure of Zone Zero: The Indigo Disc, you will be able to find no less than 91 additional Pokémon from previous versions, without forgetting the 4 completely new and original Pokémon.
In addition to discovering the new area around theBlueberry Institute (which is actually in the middle of the ocean), you will be able to capture 4 Pokémon 100% exclusive to this new DLC: Terapagos, Ponderosa, Ire-Lightning et Chef-de-Fer. Of course, this new DLC will also be the opportunity to participate in a brand new scenario, still within the framework of this famous school exchange between the Paldéa Academy and the Myrtille Institute.
