Nintendo delays the release of a military strategy game

Due to “international news”, meaning the ongoing war in Ukraine, Nintendo has chosen to postpone the release of the war game “Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp”, reports the Huffington Post. The Japanese giant made the announcement Wednesday on Twitter. The game, which is one of the most anticipated of 2022, was due to be available on Nintendo Switch on April 8.

No new date announced

No new date has been announced at this time. “Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp” is a military strategy game in which the player officiates as a general and commands the army of Orange Stars. His goal ? Fight strategic battles, in the air or on the ground, to destroy enemy units or capture the HQ of your opponents. So many game scenarios that echo the current conflict in Ukraine too much, Nintendo judges.

This is not the first time that the release of an opus from the “Advance Wars” series has been linked to international news. Released on Game Boy Advance, the first opus was put on sale the day before the attacks of September 11, 2001 in the United States. Its release had been postponed to April 2022 in France. Regarding “Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising”, this game was released a few months following the start of the war in Iraq, in 2003.
