After regaining control of the Venezuelan state petrochemical company Monómeros in Colombia, the government of Nicolás Maduro announced the appointment of Ninoska La Concha as the company’s new general manager.
This designation comes following the Barranquilla Chamber of Commerce approved the formation of a new board of directors for the company, which until recently was in the hands of the interim government headed by Juan Guaidó.
Monomers indicated in social networks that the objective of this new stage is to recover the power of the company and work for the well-being of the workers and of both countries.
Who is Ninoska La Concha?
Ninoska La Concha is a graduate of the Bicentennial University of Aragua where she obtained a degree in Systems Engineering, according to her professional profile in LinkedIn.
A press release from Petrochemical of Venezuela (Pequiven) indicated that the new general manager has more than 17 years of experience in the petrochemical industry.
Between April 2018 and July 2022, he served as operations manager of the Integral Services company dedicated to construction projects and maintenance services for civil, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic works.
In addition, before being chosen to occupy this important position in front of Monómeros, La Cocha also served as general manager of the company Fertilizadores Oriente since December 2020.
“Restoring the company will be my priority”
The appointment of the new leader of the agro-industrial firm was made following the visit of the president of Pequiven, Pedro Rafael Tellechea, to Barranquilla. The manager also introduced the new members of the board of directors.
Tellechea was accompanied by Rodrigo Ramírez and Cristóbal Padilla, delegates of the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, before the company’s board.
During a tour of the company’s port area in Barranquilla, La Concha told his companions that he “faithfully believes in working shoulder to shoulder, in teamwork, and that restoring the company will be my priority from now on.”
For his part, Tellechea stated that “if we find 10,000 problems, we will propose 100,000 solutions; what is important today is the recovery of Monómeros for the well-being of its workers in Colombia and Venezuela».
He also announced that in the next few days a shipment of raw material, such as urea, will be received from Venezuela.
A new story is being written from today in Monomers! With great enthusiasm and commitment we welcome Pedro Rafael @TellecheaRuiz President of @PrensaPequiven, to present Ninoska La Concha, as the new Gte. General of the company, accompanied by its new board of directors. pic.twitter.com/cATpHZamsy
