“The proposal for programmatic convergence and electoral cooperation of progressive forces is an intersection,” said Nikos Pappas in his presentation to the Central Committee of SYRIZA-PS.

Regarding the perspective of the cooperation of the progressive forces, he said: “It has not been established that the party whose vision is socialism with democracy and freedom, which operates more participatory, more democratic, more transparently than any other party in Greece, should cease to function. the party that must complete its transformation, that can guarantee the progressive and programmatic foundations of an electoral cooperation”.

In particular, regarding the proposal to hold referendums in October on the changes in SYRIZA and the restructuring of the progressive space, the SYRIZA MP commented: “The statute provides that the statutory changes are made based on the decisions of the statutory conference. If there is an opinion that constitutional changes should be made based on referendums, it should be submitted and go to the congress. The proposal for a referendum on partnerships violates open doors.”
