Nikos Economopoulos’ book “Michelle’s story” was presented PHOTO

On Sunday 1/09/2024 it was successfully presented at the Panagiotopoulos Mansion in Aigio the book by the writer Nikos Economopoulos from Aigio entitled “The story of Michelle”published by anima publications.

It is a social novel spread over five generations, the action of which unfolds in Paris with surprises, reversals, strong emotions, loves and passions, but also unfulfilled desires, violence, betrayal, cruelty, injustice of justice and murders for redemption. The heroes struggle with their destiny, persistently searching for joy and happiness, but they do not find it, because the unexpected, abuse, guilt, frustration, selfishness and class differences stand in their way.

Nikos Oikonomopoulos, who signs the book as NikOkoun, was born in Aigios in 1940. In 1966 he left for America and settled in New Jersey, where his older brother was. For many years he worked in the catering industry. His marriage, in 1973, to Paraskevi Rabavila, also from the region of Aigio, gave him two daughters, Maria and Georgia. In the 1960s he visited Paris for a while, which is the background of the action of his work, but he was not happy to see it published, since he passed away in 2020.

At the event, spoke Vana Bedevihistorian, writer and literary critic, who referred to the social dimension of the work and its ramifications in many areas of life and the Eleni Stathopouloupoet, writer and editor of the publication, who described how she edited the author’s 1,500 manuscript pages over two years.

At the beginning of the event, the editor and author welcomed the attendees Anna Raziof anima editions, emphasizing the importance of the publication, and the event closed with a short speech by the author’s wife Voulas Rabavila Economopoulouwhich referred to how she experienced writing the book alongside the author, in America. The journalist-researcher coordinated the presentation Makis Exarchopoulos.

The event was held under the auspices of the Deputy Mayor of Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Aegialia.
