Nikolas Farandouris submitted 34 signatures and his whereabouts

The MEP and candidate for president of SYRIZA-PS, Nikolaos Farandouris, submitted today 34 signatures as well as his signature.

In his speech he emphasized that SYRIZA needs to move forward today. The great democratic progressive faction has only one way to go: Forward. He called for an army of democratic progressive forces.

“We are recovering the strength and extroversion of a modern Left, Green, European party. We all work, the top and the organs of the party, with unity, camaraderie and solidarity”.

Criticizing the phobic and defeatist logic of the demonization of the programmatic dialogue with the democratic progressive forces, he demanded that we “proceed with the regional formation and completion of the transformation of our party into a great democratic progressive faction from the Left to the progressive center. A patriotic Left with self-confidence, extroversion, initiatives, international prestige and a European presence at the center of decision-making. Which will inspire respect in opponents and enthusiasm in citizens. And so let’s lead a victorious electoral campaign of the progressive democratic forces”.

As he said, his political plan is based on 10 axes of a New Progressive-Democratic Alliance and Governance:

Social and income justice with a fair tax system, reinstatement of collective agreements. Anthropocentrism and society. Balance with the natural environment and safeguarding the needs of future generations. Energy as a social good. Energy democracy with energy communities and low and sustainable energy costs. Democratic institutions, rule of law, democratization of the administration of justice, decentralization.

We start from our party with the regional reconstruction of organizations throughout Greece. Demographics, social welfare and family and child protection. Education and training: artificial intelligence, teacher training and not mock evaluation with the reintegration of sociology and psychology courses into the curriculum of the circular.

A complete and effective national health system for all. Welfare economics and industrial policy: Protection of strategic Greek industrial units such as the Hellenic Defense Systems. Fighting Cartels. Merger of all co-competent Competition Authorities (RAE, EETT) into the Competition Commission with increased powers and resources.

Digital development and artificial intelligence: opportunity but also challenge for individual rights, labor rights, artistic creation and human personality. National sovereignty and international cooperation. And he concluded by stressing that the dilemma is “renewal and reconstruction or shrinking and disappearing? Unity and togetherness or division and fragmentation?’
