In a statement from office of the Ilio Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection, Andreas Nikolakopoulos the following are mentioned:

How many cases have been “hit” by the plague disease and in Iliathere is already care so that they are fully compensated and to the extent that will completely satisfy our breeders.

This was emphasized by the Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection Andreas Nikolakopouloswho directly contacted the Minister of Rural Development himself on the matter Costa Ciarafrom whom he received the assurance that all the necessary initiatives are being taken by the Ministry for the compensation of the farmers who have suffered livestock losses.

At the same time, he informed the Ilios Deputy Minister about the continuous tracing that is done in the Prefecture and more broadly in Western Greece, as well as about the positive cases that were found in Units of two different regions and for which there was an immediate reaction in taking measures, in collaboration with the P. E Ilias.

More generally, it is a major operation that has been carried out in recent days, after the initial detection of zoonotic disease in Thessaly, with the contribution of the agencies involved, veterinarians and other specialist scientists, and with the formation of teams that investigate and deal with the epidemiological phenomenon, so as to limit its cycle in an organized and short way.

It should be noted that Andreas Nikolakopoulos has been in regular contact with the Deputy Governors of Ilia, Nikos Korovesis and of the Region’s Agricultural Affairs, Andreas Filia, since the first positive cases were identified, and is constantly informed of the measures and the necessary interventions that are being made.
