NIKOLA Jokic recorded a triple double for the 23rd time this season when he led the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets to a landslide 130-101 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, Monday (1/4) WIB.
The 29-year-old Serbian center, a two-time NBA MVP, recorded 26 points, 18 rebounds and 16 assists for his 128th career NBA triple double.
“I’m relieved he’s a Nuggets player. I didn’t want to face him and came up with a plan to deal with him,” said Nuggets coach Michael Malone.
The Nuggets, who are riding a 14-game winning streak with Jokic hitting a triple double, have already booked their ticket to the playoffs.
“This win feels great. However, we still have a lot of work to do,” said Nuggets guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who scored 22 points.
“Tonight we worked hard and showed who we are. Kamit performed well when defending, rebounding and scoring the ball.”
The Nuggets now post a win-loss record of 52-23, losing only to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City in the race to be the best team in the Western Conference.
