Nikita Mazepin Supports Athletes with Uralkali F1 Funds[F1-Gate .com]

Nikita Mazepin, who lost his seat in the Haas F1 Team, held a press conference on Wednesday, March 9, and lost the opportunity to compete for some of the funds Uralkali had prepared for the F1 program depending on the current situation. He said he would use it to support the players.

In response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Haas F1 Team announced on Saturday, March 5 that it had terminated its contracts with both Nikita Mazepin and Uralkali.

Uralkali, a Russian fertilizer company, is chaired by his father, Dmitry Mazepin, with a majority shareholder. As a result of severe economic sanctions on Russian companies, the Haas F1 Team has cut off its relationship with Uralkali. As a result, pay driver Nikita Mazepin, who got a seat with the company’s funds, also automatically lost the seat.

Nikita Mazepin held a press conference on Wednesday, March 9, and announced that it would establish a foundation called “We Compete As One.” He said he would use some of the money Uralkari had prepared for the F1 program to help athletes competing in the current situation.

F1 has launched the initiative “#WeRaceAsOne” from 2020 with the aim of tackling racial discrimination and inequality, but it seems to be a somewhat ironic name.

It is reported that Uralkali paid the Haas F1 Team a sponsorship fee of $ 10 million a year.
