Nike launches collection of AFC Richmond apparel by ‘Ted Lasso’

In early 2022, Nike announced which would become the official supplier of sporting goods for the fictional football team AFC Richmondof “Ted Lasso” — the hit comedy series Apple TV+.

Well, almost a year later, the brand of swoosh decided to take advantage of the hype of the third season of the production to announce that fans of the series can finally buy the equipment used by “greyhounds” through its official website. In addition to shirts, the collection launched today also includes sweatshirts and scarves.

The products, according to Nike, will be available in selected regions (nothing in Brazil and Portugal, unfortunately). On the supplier’s American website, the official AFC Richmond shirt costs US$105, while the scarves of the fictional team (there are two, one yellow/red and the other blue/red), the cheapest item in the collection, cost US$50.

The official shirt has a blue-grena design with gold details, such as the Nike logo. On the front, you can find the branding of the fictional dating app Bantrwhich started to sponsor the club at the beginning of the second season of “Ted Lasso”.

Although Apple TV+ closed a millionaire deal with the Premier League — England’s top football league — the year before last, the shirts sold by Nike do not have the patches of the competition, which are usually on the sleeves of uniforms. It is also not possible to personalize the items with a number and/or name on the back of the shirt.

According to Nike, the official shirt of AFC Richmond is made of 100% recycled polyester fibers.

Warner, it is worth remembering, already sold the uniforms used in the series when the team was still sponsored by the fictional brand of sporting goods Verani Sports.
