The convention center in Marrakech, Morocco, dressed in its finest black and gold on Monday December 11 to host the 2023 CAF Awards.
During the prestigious ceremony, the kingdom should take the lion’s share – of the Atlas: there is at least one Moroccan in each of the seven prize categories and the total of representatives of Morocco (players, coaches, clubs, national team…) amounts to 17 nominations, all categories combined. What might be more logical following the exceptional journey of Morocco in Qatar during the World Cup, the first African team to reach the last four?
In the category of best player of the year, the most scrutinized, Achraf Hakimi is in the running to win the “African Ballon d’Or”. Unless Victor Osimhen or Mohamed Salah ignores him.
