The Federal Government of Nigeria has authorized the construction of a deep water port in Lagos State for 2.5 billion dollars. This is the Port of Badagry project which was already awarded a full business case certificate by the Infrastructure Concessions Regulatory Commission (CICR) last April. Estimated at $2.5 billion, the project will be developed over an area of 496 hectares.
