LH Mikl-Leitner: “More than 240 of the approximately 350 excursion destinations are worth a visit even in bad weather”
St. Polten (OTS/NLK) – The high summer temperatures are slowly coming to an end. Lower Austria as THE number one destination for excursions in Austria also offers a wide range of excursion options when the weather is bad. “Lower Austria is worth a trip in any weather,” says governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner with conviction, adding: “Many excursion destinations are also open when it rains. More than 240 of the approximately 350 excursion destinations are worth a visit even in bad weather: thermal baths and spas, museums and adventure worlds, castles and palaces – the selection is large. Many of the 16 excursion destinations that are new this season are also suitable as a bad weather program:
Textile Museum Groß Siegharts, Stadtmuseum Hollabrunn, Schloss Marchegg, House of Digitization, vain children’s stuff Neulengbach, Pittener Regional Museum or the museums in Vienna, for example, are perfect ideas for rainy days or later in autumn. By the end of July, around 600,000 trips had already been made with the CARD. There will certainly be a few more to come here in the coming weeks.”
Of course, there are also many ‘classics’ in the portfolio of offers of the Niederösterreich-CARD such as Eckartsau Castle, the Amethyst World Maissau or the AnnoLIGNUM wood adventure world, the visitor world at Vienna Schwechat Airport, the MAMUZ at Asparn Castle, the Sconarium in Bad Schönau, Liechtenstein Castle or Melk Abbey are all worth a visit as all-weather excursion destinations.
Michael Showerer, Managing Director of Niederösterreich Werbung, says: “In rain or shine: the Niederösterreich-CARD opens the door to around 350 excursion destinations in Lower Austria and the neighboring federal states. Those who spend their holidays in Lower Austria get 348 ideas for great holidays with the Niederösterreich-CARD. The card can still be used until the end of March 2024, so there will still be many opportunities to visit zoos and nature parks, climbing gardens, indoor swimming pools and open-air museums in the coming weeks and months!”
Klemens Wögerer, Managing Director of the Niederösterreich-CARD explains:
“In Lower Austria there is a lot to experience in all tourist destinations, with the Niederösterreich-CARD it is particularly easy. By the end of July, around 600,000 trips had already been made with the CARD, and this number is sure to skyrocket in the final weeks of the holidays. With our mix of offers for bad and good weather, indoor and outdoor excursion destinations from mountain railways to cave tours, boat trips and summer toboggan runs, castles and museums, there is sure to be something for everyone!”
The Niederösterreich-CARD is available for adults for 65 euros, for young people for 34 euros (extension for 60 or 31 euros), children up to the age of six come along for free. The excursion card can be purchased from the Lower Austria CARD hotline on 01/535 05 05, in the online shop on the website and from many participating partners and sales outlets. It’s particularly quick and easy with the NÖ-CARD app – simply download it, create an account, buy a digital CARD and you can use it digitally. All details on www.niederoesterreich-card.at
