Nicolas Holveck, who had been fighting cancer for many months, died this Monday, April 8, 2024, at the age of 52. The Vosgien was named deputy president of AS Nancy Lorraine last summer. A month ago, he took time off from his duties to be able to get treatment.

Returning to ASNL as an intern at the end of the 1990s, Nicolas Holveck had risen through the ranks of the club, becoming vice-president during its prosperous period (victory in the Coupe de la Ligue in 2006, 4th place in Ligue 1 in 2008, European campaigns).

Asked by AS Monaco, he left Nancy in 2014 to become deputy general manager of the Principality club. His mandate was marked by record sales for ASM, notably that of Kylian Mbappé at PSG in 2017 (180 million euros).

In 2020, Nicolas Holveck was appointed executive president of Stade Rennais. After a year, he announced that he had cancer and withdrew a few months later to follow his treatment.

On August 31, 2023, the Vosges returned to Lorraine to take over the presidency of the ASNL. He had undertaken to restructure his favorite club, which was facing serious financial difficulties.

The France 3 Lorraine editorial team sends its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Nicolas Holveck.
