Nicolas Cage He assured that his retirement as a film actor is near, since he is interested in exploring formats outside of the big screen.
“I may have three or four more films left”said the actor in an interview with Vanity Fairin which he explained that he feels satisfied with his cinematographic career.
“I feel like I’ve said what I needed to say with film and I think I’ve taken film acting as far as I can,” he said.
In the interview, the interpreter of ‘Leaving Las Vegas’ (Goodbye to Las Vegas) clarified that he has no intention of giving up acting completely and that he is interested in exploring television and streaming so as not to stay “stagnant”.
“Don’t know. I have to look for the next step and I haven’t found it yet,” she mentioned.
The actor’s statements come following a very active year, where he starred in five premieres in 2023. The most recent was ‘Dream Scenario’, by Norwegian filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli.
Cage, 59, revealed in the interview that he wants to dedicate more time to his family, following becoming a father for the third time in 2022.
“I was taking stock of the time I had left. I thought: My father died at 75, I’m going to be 60. If I’m lucky, I have regarding 15 years left, hopefully more. What do I want to do with those 15 years, taking my father as a model? It occurred to me very clearly that I want to spend time with my family,” he confessed.
Cage is one of the most prolific actors in Hollywood. His work in the film ‘Living Las Vegas’ earned him the Oscar and the Golden Globe for best actor in 1996, and his career is marked by titles such as ‘Rumble Fish’, by Francis Ford Coppola; ‘Racing with the Moon’, by Richard Benjamin; and more commercial films like ‘Face/Off’ or ‘Ghost Rider’.
