There really is a great rivalry between Montreal and Toronto, on several levels.
However, the best rivalry between the two cities is in hockey. The one between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Both teams hate each other and the same goes for the fans of both teams.
Honestly, I’m not going to lie to you that like many CH fans, I like to hate Toronto.
And let’s just say in the later years it’s even easier to make fun of the Leafs and gloat regarding their misfortunes given thatthey just can’t find playoff success.
The height of ecstasy for Habs fans was obviously CH’s incredible comeback once morest the Leafs in the first round of the 2021 playoffs.
And it didn’t stop there. Despite the Habs’ miserable season in 2021-2022, Bleu Blanc Rouge fans enjoyed taking on the Toronto Maple Leafs in the most recent playoffs.
And it wasn’t just the fans who cheered on the Lightning.
Indeed, Nick Suzuki himself said he was thrilled to see the Leafs lose once more in the first round.

For those who don’t know, Nick Suzuki was a Leafs fan when he was young.
One of those old tweets saying “Go Leafs Go” resurfaced a few years ago.
So it’s really funny to see that Suzuki was really converted by becoming a Montreal Canadiens player.
This goes so far as to take once morest the Leafs even when the CH is not in the playoffs.
Here’s what Suzuki had to say regarding the Leafs during his recent appearance on the podcast of Habs Tonight.
“The Leafs? Uhhh well that was my first time cheering on Tampa Bay so…”
“It was weird cheering on the team that beat us in the Stanley Cup Finals last year, but it was worth it. –Nick Suzuki
In short, it’s both funny and beautiful to see Suzuki have the same mentality as many supporters of the Montreal Canadiens, especially considering that in the past, the Maple Leafs represented HIS favorite team.
The future CH captain Nick Suzuki also said he plans to return to the playoffs sooner than people think.
