Nick de Vries will make his F1 debut with Williams at this weekend’s F1 Italian Grand Prix as a substitute for the unwell Alexander Albon.
Williams Racing has confirmed that Alexander Albon has been unwell this morning and is being treated for appendicitis following seeking medical advice from the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) and local hospitals.
Following this, Williams announced that reserve driver Nick de Vries will replace Alexander Albon for the remainder of the Italian Grand Prix weekend.
Nick de Vries is a former F2 champion and Formula E champion. On Friday, he took part in his third rookie FP1 session of the year with Aston Martin. De Vries is also Mercedes’ reserve driver.
