Browns-Star Chubb is seriously injured in loss to Steelers
NFL star Nick Chubb of the Cleveland Browns apparently seriously injured his knee in the second game of the season. In the 22:26 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, he was unable to continue playing early in the second quarter following he was hit in the legs by opponent Minkah Fitzpatrick and his left knee was bent at an extremely unnatural angle. His coach Kevin Stefanski said following the game, when asked if he expects Chubb to miss the rest of the season: “I do.”
Numerous US sports stars expressed their regret on Monday evening (local time), including NBA superstar LeBron James and colleagues such as Lamar Jackson and Christian McCaffrey from the NFL. The scene looked so brutal that the TV station ESPN decided not to repeat it. There was initially no diagnosis of the 27-year-old’s obvious injury.
The game had already started extremely bitterly for the Browns. On the first play, quarterback Deshaun Watson’s pass bounced from his teammate’s hands into those of a Steelers defender. Alex Highsmith carried the football into the end zone and the Browns were already behind following just nine seconds. Steelers star defender TJ Watt scored the final touchdown in the final quarter following the Browns lost the ball once more.
In the previous meeting on Monday evening, the New Orleans Saints won 20:17 at the Carolina Panthers. The Saints with their new quarterback Derek Carr recorded their second win of the season. This has not been possible since 2013. “They’re a big reason why I wanted to come here. I don’t have to be perfect for us to win and I certainly wasn’t in the first half,” Carr said of the Saints defense’s strong performance. “We don’t have the feeling that we’ve played that outstandingly so far and we still have two wins. That’s pretty good.” The Panthers, with young Bryce Young as a playmaker, are still waiting for their first success of the season.

Eagles gain altitude: Second win in second NFL-Spiel
The Philadelphia Eagles also won their second game of the new NFL season. In the 34:28 win once morest the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday evening (local time), quarterback Jalen Hurts was the most important performer on the way to victory for last season’s Super Bowl participants with two self-scored touchdowns and a touchdown pass. After a 20-point lead in the third quarter, the Vikings football players came within six points of the Eagles twice in the final phase, but were unable to prevent defeat.
Because the throwing game was a bit stuttering, Hurts got a lot of help from D’Andre Swift. The running back scored a touchdown and gained a strong 175 yards on his 28 runs. The fourth touchdown for the Eagles was scored by DeVonta Smith, who gained a total of 131 yards on four caught passes.
The Vikings around the well-playing quarterback Kirk Cousins now have two defeats in two games. After the opening score of 17:20 once morest the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the lull in the offense following the first touchdown lasted too long to put the Eagles under serious pressure. Cousins connected on 31 of his 44 attempts to a teammate and threw for four touchdowns and 364 total yards. In contrast to Hurts, he also remained without a pass intercepted by the opponent. But his teammates blocking for him let him down too often.
Injured Jets-Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has already had surgery
NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers underwent surgery on Wednesday following tearing his Achilles tendon. This emerges from a story published on Instagram on Thursday evening (local time) by the star footballer of the New York Jets. In it, the 39-year-old reported that the operation the day before had gone well and thanked his doctor for putting him “on the right path to recovery.” Rodgers captioned the post with a photo of himself in a hospital bed. On Wednesday he spoke for his new team for the first time since the injury in the first game of the season and indicated his desire for a comeback.
Because of his age, there had recently been speculation that Rodgers might possibly end his career. He had just moved from the Green Bay Packers to the Jets before this season, making the team a Super Bowl contender. Jets coach Robert Saleh had already said he would be shocked if Rodgers didn’t make a comeback and ended his career in such a sad way. In the win once morest the Buffalo Bills, Rodgers had only been on the field for four plays before he was knocked to the ground in accordance with the rules and tore his Achilles tendon. Given his type of injury, experts expect him to be out of action for nine to twelve months.

Serious foot injury: Jets fear for star quarterback Rodgers following opening win
Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers was injured just a few minutes following his debut as an NFL professional for the New York Jets and is in danger of being out for a long time. After the win once morest the Buffalo Bills on Monday evening (local time), coach Robert Saleh spoke of the suspicion that the 39-year-old newcomer had a torn Achilles tendon. This would mean that Rodgers’ debut season with the Jets would end early. Investigations on Tuesday should bring clarity. “We are concerned regarding his Achilles tendon,” said coach Saleh. “It’s not good,” he said.
Rodgers is scheduled to undergo an MRI scan. This will probably confirm the fears, said the coach. “I will still say a prayer and keep hope. My heart is with Aaron now, no one else,” Saleh explained. “I hate this man,” Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes wrote on X, the former Twitter. “I’m praying for the best,” added the two-time Super Bowl winner.
The playmaker was knocked down in accordance with the rules on the fourth play of the game once morest the Bills and was unable to continue playing followingwards. TV images showed him being taken for an X-ray with his left foot wrapped in a support shoe. Shortly followingwards, the Jets announced that Rodgers might not continue the game. With Zach Wilson as a substitute playmaker, the Jets still won their home game 22:16 following overtime. “Aaron is, in my opinion, the greatest of all time. I have big shoes to fill,” Wilson said.
Aaron Rodgers moved to New York just before this season following 18 years with the Green Bay Packers and signed a two-year contract with the Jets that, according to media reports, would guarantee him $75 million despite salary cuts. He still had a contract with the Packers until 2024.
Rodgers was drafted by the Packers in 2005 and has since developed into one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. After three years as a substitute behind the legendary Brett Favre, he was a regular player from the 2008 season and has since been voted the league’s most valuable player four times. In February 2011, he led his team to victory in the Super Bowl.
The Bills had only forced extra playing time with six seconds left. Kicker Tyler Bass hit a field goal attempt from the post and made it 16:16. Xavier Gibson secured the decision and the Jets’ opening win on the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 with a 42-yard punt return. Bills quarterback Josh Allen had a weak game and allowed four turnovers. The Jets defense intercepted three of his passes, then he dropped the football and lost possession.

San Francisco 49ers make Bosa the highest-paid defenseman in the game NFL
Four days before the first NFL game, the San Francisco 49ers ended contract poker with Nick Bosa and made him the highest-paid defenseman in league history. As US media reported on Wednesday, the 49ers and their most important defensive professional agreed on a five-year contract worth 170 million US dollars (almost 159 million euros). The average of $34 million per year is more than Aaron Donald’s $31.7 million with the Los Angeles Rams, and the guaranteed sum of $122.5 million exceeds the $102 million, which Nick Bosa’s older brother Joey gets from the Los Angeles Chargers.
