Nice, the ninth French football club, announced its contract with the young Italian coach, Francesco Farioli (34 years), for a two-year contract.

Nice explained that Farioli, who had not been supervising any team since his dismissal from his position as coach of Alanyaspor in February, will officially assume his duties on Monday, during the team’s resumption of training, to succeed Didier Degar, who will occupy the position of club director.

Farioli worked as a goalkeeper coach in various youth teams in Italy and then at the Aspire Academy in Qatar, before his compatriot Roberto De Zerbi, the current Brighton English coach, called him to join his crew.

The two men worked together between 2017 and 2020 in Benevento and then Sassuolo. Farioli then moved to Turkey where he soon became the head coach at the age of 31, first at Fatih Karacmruk from March 2021 to December 2021, then Alanyaspor between January 2022 and February 2023.

In these two clubs, his style and philosophy of play were appreciated (75 matches resulted in a total of 31 victories). This is what seduced the sports administration in Nice, which was forced to find an alternative solution following the impossibility of recruiting Regis Le Bres, who is currently stationed in Lorient and whose boss, Loic Ferry, does not want to part.
