Marco Antonio Figueroa will have to keep waiting to face the Chilean national team. It is that the representative of Nicaragua, directed by El Fantasma, refused to play a friendly in March against La Roja due to a deadline.
As reported by La Prensa de Nicaragua, the federation of the Central American country declined the invitation to play the friendly on the FIFA date of March, because on the same day they will play against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the task of promotion to League A of Nations of the Concacaf and a ticket to the Gold Cup 2023.
La Roja’s proposal to Nicaragua was to play the friendly on March 24 in Viña del Mar, but that same day the blues and whites will be on the pitch for the transcendental Concacaf duel in Managua.
Of course, the Nicaraguan Football Federation expressed its intention to face La Roja in the future and left the doors open for a friendly duel between the teams led by Eduardo Berizzo and Fantasma Figueroa on the next FIFA dates.
In this way, the Chilean team must continue looking for a second rival for the FIFA date of March considering that there is Conmebol competition in Central and North America, while UEFA starts with the qualifiers for the Eurocup in Germany 2024.
The friendly duel that the Chilean team has agreed to is against Paraguay on Tuesday, March 28, with Eduardo Berizzo facing a team he knows after leading the Albirroja between 2019 and 2021.
