NIA-ATS assessment highlights stronger nexus between terrorism and train arson in Kerala

The burning of passengers on the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express train is suspected to be related to terrorism planning and conspiracy. According to investigators, the statements made by Shaheen Bagh’s relatives, as well as Shahrukh’s phone calls and chats from 2021, suggest a larger plan. Shahrukh Saifi, who was responsible for the attack, did not show any signs of mental issues according to his relatives from Kerala. His behavior indicated an external influence, specifically relating to religious extremism. The NIA-ATS regards the evidence so far as pointing towards a terrorist link. If the terrorist link becomes more apparent during the interrogation, the police will hand over the case to the NIA.

Shah Rukh reached Shornoor and purchased four liters of petrol at an Indian Oil pump. Afterward, he returned to the railway station in an auto which hasn’t been found. The investigation is focused on determining Shah Rukh’s whereregardings for a day and a night following the petrol purchase. Footage of him boarding the Sunday express with two cans of petrol has also been collected.

It is believed that Shah Rukh got local help to land at Shornur and call an auto to go to the pump. If he wanted to attack, he might have easily purchased petrol from several pumps close to Kozhikode railway station. The selection of the D-One coach, which has the potential to spread fire easily, is another mysterious element of the case. The investigation raises doubts such as why Shah Rukh traveled to Shornur to carry out the attack, why he went a kilometer away to purchase petrol, and who is behind the planning.

Palakkad / Kozhikode: Suspicion of terrorism-related planning and conspiracy behind the burning of passengers on the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express train has been strengthened.

The investigators believe that Shaheen Bagh’s relatives’ statements and Shahrukh’s phone calls and chats from 2021, reaching Shornur from Shaheen Bagh and choosing the petrol pump there all point to a bigger plan.

Shahrukh Saifi doesn’t seem to have any mental problems as the group from Kerala spoke to his relatives. He was generally a noisy man and had been a recluse for two years. Not much talk. But with outside cooperation. He became more devoted to religious matters. All this is seen as a sign of connection with external forces. NIA-ATS assesses that the evidence so far points to a terrorist link. The police will hand over the case to the NIA if the terrorist link becomes stronger during the interrogation.

It came in the contact revolution

Shah Rukh reached Shornoor on Saturday 1st April at 3.10 pm on Sambarka Kranti Express. From there, I went to an Indian Oil pump, which was one kilometer away by auto, and bought petrol. The pump staff said that they bought four liters of petrol in two cans. Camera footage of him buying petrol was obtained from the pump. He went back to the railway station in the same auto.

This auto is not found. It is a mystery as to where Shah Rukh was for a day and a night following buying the petrol. Footage of the executive boarding the 7 pm Sunday express express with two cans of petrol has also been collected.

The way of local assistance

It is assumed that Shah Rukh, who came to Kerala for the first time, got local help to land at Shornur and call an auto to go to the pump. Kozhikode by train

If it was to attack, there is no need to go as far as Shornur. There are several pumps near Kozhikode railway station. Just buy petrol from there and board the train.

The D-One coach’s selection is even more mysterious. AC compartment is at the back of D-One coach. AC coaches with full curtains etc. have the potential to spread easily in case of fire. If that happens, the bridge will be left over. The depth of the disaster will be indescribable. If the young carpenter from Shaheen Bagh had done this much, there would have been big forces behind him.

Rising doubts

1-Why did Kozhikode go to Shornur for the attack?
2-Why did the petrol buyer go a kilometer away?
3-Why did it burn when it reached the top of the Korapuzha bridge?
4. Where is the planning, why and who is behind it?

The investigation into the burning of passengers on the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express train raises serious concerns and suspicions of a terrorist link. The evidence collected so far points to a bigger plan, possibly involving outside forces. The mysterious actions of the main suspect, Shahrukh Saifi, and the unusual choices made in the execution of the attack have raised many questions.
