To David Pastr (1-1-2) assisted in the decisive goal and scored his 39th goal of the season in overtime. Boston (40-8-5, 85 points) thus became the first team to reach the 40-win mark in 2022/23. The Bruins, who have lost consecutive games only once this campaign (0-2-1 Jan 26-29), tied the 2015/16 Capitals (53 GP) for the smallest number of games to reach 40 wins in a single season.

  • Boston has 29 games left in 2022/23, including 12 once morest clubs currently in a postseason berth, and continues its quest to break the NHL single-season win record (62: DET in 1995/96 and TBL in 2018/19) as well as the single-season points record (132: MTL in 1976/77).
  • The Bruins have an .802 point percentage and are one of seven teams in NHL history to have an .800 or higher point percentage at this point in the season (860 GP), joining the 1929 Bruins /30 (0.875), 1943/44 Canadiens (0.830), 1976/77 Canadiens (0.825), 1977/78 Canadiens (0.806), 2012/13 Blackhawks (0.802) and 1944 Canadiens /45 (0.800). All teams went on to win the Stanley Cup except for the Bruins in 1929/30 (loss of CFS to MTL) and the Canadiens in 1944/45 (loss of SF to TOR).
