The Detroit Red Wings have entered the striker’s name on waivers Jakub Vranamardi.
He was reinstated by the NHL and the Players’ Association on Dec. 16, following using the NHLPA’s Player Assistance Program last fall.
The organization traded the 26-year-old forward to the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins on Dec. 28 to play some fitness games. He was shut out of the scoresheet in three games and posted a minus-5 rating.
He has a goal and an assist in two games with the Wings this season. He hasn’t worn a Wings uniform since Oct. 15.
Vrana was acquired by the Red Wings in 2021 in the trade that moved Anthony Mantha to the Capitals.
Last season, he was limited to 26 games due to a shoulder injury during training camp that required surgery.
