Boston Bruins
5 – 2
Washington C.
The Boston Bruins set two new records. They first improved on their regular-season winning streak set Sunday by beating Washington for a 64th win. Second, thanks to this success, the Bruins now have 133 points, a number never reached in a regular season.
Boston can further improve on those two marks – now their property – by winning Thursday in their final game once morest the Montreal Canadiens. If successful, they would therefore bring their total to 65 wins and 135 points in a regular season.
The previous winning record belonged to the Detroit Red Wings and the Tampa Bay Lightning, who had 62 wins in 1995-96 and 2018-19 respectively. In terms of points in a season, it was the Montreal Canadiens who held the record with 132 points in just 80 games during the 1976-77 season.

These will be the first matches hosted by the NHL in the Southern Hemisphere.
