NHL: Oilers series rips against shot light – Kraken premiere

Leon Draisaitl has lost once more with the Edmonton Oilers following the last six wins in a row, the Seattle Kraken have made history. The NHL on Thursday morning.

Put a damper on the Oilers in the playoff race. After extra time, Connor McDavid, Draisaitl & Co. lost 3-2 at home to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday evening (local time). While superstar McDavid scored his 49th assist in the interim 2-1 by Zach Hyman (37th, 25th goal of the season), Draisaitl (two shots on goal, 24:22 minutes on the ice) remained without a point this time. The Blue Jackets secured the win through Kent Johnson following 2:29 minutes of overtime.

Edmonton holds one of two wildcard spots in the west with 58 points, Columbus (33) is a distant tail in the east.

Kraken premiere vs. Canucks

What else was going on in the league? The Seattle Kraken won their home game once morest the Vancouver Canucks 6-1 and are thus clearly on the play-off course. National goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer was not used by the Kraken, Martin Jones was preferred once more.

The special thing regarding Seattle’s thrashing: It was the first success ever once morest the Canadian neighbors. In addition, the Kraken now have 28 wins, one more than in the entire previous season. The franchise leads the Pacific Division with 61 points ahead of the tied Vegas Golden Knights.

Meanwhile, Tim Stützle recorded a 2-1 win with the Ottawa Senators once morest the New York Islanders. The attacker remained without a point with two shots on goal in 20:50 minutes of ice time.
