NHL: Josh Anderson leaves after a nasty fall at the end of the game

Josh Anderson left the game in front of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the final moments of the game.

The Montreal Canadiens forward tried to score into an empty net to offer a cushion to his team, but trying to cut towards the net, he was hooked by Mikhail Sergachev. Anderson fell into the empty net which he moved with contact.

The striker remained on the ice for a few moments in pain and he left with the help of his teammates towards the locker room shortly before CH confirmed the 3-2 victory.

Head coach Martin St-Louis had few details to offer following the game, noting that the forward was taking exams at the time of his press briefing. He still commented saying that “it didn’t look good”. Anderson will not accompany his teammates for Thursday’s game in Boston.

Anderson remained in the locker room at the start of the second period. We saw him on a sequence a little earlier during which he seemed to have suffered from an injury. The CH striker has amassed 21 goals and 11 assists this season.

It was also announced following the game that defender Kaiden Guhle’s season was over. He suffered a sprained left ankle.

The rookie was in pain following a fall during the game once morest the Florida Panthers on March 16. He was also injured once morest those same Panthers on December 29 and only returned to action on February 28.

In his first campaign, Guhle played 44 games and had four goals and 14 assists.
