Connor McDavid reached the 150-point plateau this season by finding the back of the net and picking up an assist in the first period of the game between the Edmonton Oilers and the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.
He is the first since Mario Lemieux of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1995-1996 to achieve this feat.
It’s the first time in his career that McDavid has scored at least 150 points in a season.
McDavid first assisted on Ryan Nugent-Hopkins’ goal for his 87th assist of the season. Then he added his 63rd goal late in the first.
After 20 minutes of play, Edmonton has a 2-1 lead.
