Washington – Hungary has slipped further in the democracy rankings of the US non-governmental organization Freedom House to former European Eastern Bloc countries. The deterioration in the NGO’s annual report released on Wednesday is more significant than in any other Central and Eastern European country surveyed except Russia. The parliamentary elections in Hungary in 2022 were “full of irregularities, abuse of public resources and distortions in the media”.
