Follow the Cowboys-Buccaneers duel, Monday from 7:30 p.m. with the Blitz pre-game show on RDS and RDS.ca.
The final duel of the first week of the NFL playoffs is underway between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Buccaneers on RDS.
The score is 31 to 6 in favor of the Cowboys in the 4th quarter, thanks in particular to two aerial touchdowns by Dak Prescott in the direction of Dalton Schultz.
The Bucs offense led by Tom Brady had a glorious opportunity to reply, but his pass inside the Cowboys 5 zone was intercepted by Jayron Kearse.
Prescott added a ground major short early in the second quarter, on a fourth down and the goals.
Then just before halftime, the Cowboys general spotted Schultz once more, this time from 11 yards, to add six points to the board.
Coming back from the break, Dallas immediately resumed their work of destruction, and it came to fruition with a middle finger from Michael Gallup.
Dallas would have led 28-0 at this point had it not been for the abysmal performance of kicker Brett Maher, who missed all four of his following-touchdown convert attempts.
The first sign of life for the Bucs finally came on the very last play of the third quarter, when Brady joined Julio Jones for 30 yards for the touchdown.
The post-touchdown attempt for two runs failed, however, with the No. 12 failing to reach his target Chris Godwin.
On the visitors’ next offensive streak, Prescott added a fifth touchdown to his excellent night’s work, capitalizing on Tampa’s secondary largesse to join CeeDee Lamb for 18 yards.
