The start of the NFL preseason has paid good dividends for fans; In the first game of the Sunday card, the New Orleans Saints made a splash by defeating the reigning champions Kansas City Chiefs 26-24 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

For the second game, two teams met that have an uncertain outlook, since both teams had a change in controls; On the one hand, Derek Carr left as their star quarterback and Jimmy Garoppolo arrived, precisely from the 49ers, but he did not see any activity during this game.

On the other hand, in the 49ers, a real tragedy occurred last season; Trey Lance, who was set to be their starting QB, was injured during Week 2, so Jimmy Garoppolo came into action and found a way to lead them in a great way, but he also suffered an injury in Week 13.

After having their two quarterbacks away, the 49ers had to turn to their third quarterback: Brock Purdy, the so-called ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ from last season, but he did not disappoint and made it to the NFC Championship game and unbelievably, he also got injured; so they had to look for more options and their running back, Christian McCaffrey, even ended up throwing a couple of plays; but that is now behind us.

The fight for the backup QB position in 49ers

After all the adventures that the 49ers suffered, for this campaign they opted for Brock Purdy as the starter, but he was ruled out for this game; For this reason Trey Lance started, but did not show the best version of himself and finished with 112 yards through the air.

Later, the newcomer from the Carolina Panthers: Sam Darnold, came into action and the team quickly adapted to his actions, although it did not materialize on the scoreboard.

Las Vegas Raiders used their arsenal

Raiders wanted to give their fans at home a victory at the start of the preseason, in the so-called ‘Death Star’ the team scored four touchdowns and two field goals to add 34 points.

Zamir White was responsible for breaking zero in rushing for one yard in the first quarter; Keelan Cole added the second TD on a pass from Aidan O’Connell; Sincere McCormick scored the remaining two touchdowns.

The only 49ers score was circumstantial.

During the second quarter, Trey Lance was looking to reach the end zone and was looking for a scoring opportunity in wide receiver Malik Turner, but he was close to the interception and with a fortuitous bounce the tight end: Ross Dwelley caught the ball.
