Great TV ratings on free TV for the NFL in Germany. At the second preseason game on RTL special interest channel Nitro, a peak of 420,000 football fans tuned in to the New Orleans Saints’ narrow win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday from 7 p.m.
The moderator in the studio was Jana Wosnitza. Patrick “Coach” Esume and Jan Stecker commented on the game. Alex “Kucze” von Kuczowski took care of the social media posts and the German NFL football community.

On average, 300,000 TV viewers watched the Nitro live broadcast (market share among 14 to 59 year olds: 2.9 percent). The game achieved an outstanding market share of 9.1 percent among 14 to 29-year-old men.

Nitro celebrated strong market shares, especially among younger TV viewers. In the first quarter between the Saints and the Chiefs, Nitro had a 6.1 percent market share among the juniors. A total of around 270,000 football fans aged three and over watched.
NFL game Jets vs. Panthers sees 280,000 TV viewers on Nitro
In the second quarter, TV viewership rose to 330,000. In the last quarter, the figure was 340,000. Towards the end of the game at 9:20 p.m., many spectators were still watching that the late Sunday evening market share was 4.4 percent.
280,000 TV viewers watched the first NFL preseason game between the New York Jets and the Carolina Panthers on Nitro on Saturday. On average, there were 200,000 viewers (market share among 14-59 year olds: 2.2 percent). For men (14 to 29 years), Nitro came to 3.4 percent.
