NFL: Lamar Jackson misses practice, but hopes to play even if he is sick

The quarterback of Ravens de Baltimore, Lamar Jacksonhas always shown himself adept at dodging linemen and linebackers, but apparently not the disease.
Jackson once more missed practice last Friday, but coach John Harbaugh was reassuring that his star player would start Sunday’s game once morest the Caroline’s Panthers.

“He’s fine,” Harbaugh said following Friday’s practice. He tried to practice with the group, but he was just too sick to practice. »

Asked regarding Jackson’s availability this Sunday, Harbaugh said he’ll be ready to face the Panthers.

It was a surprise when Jackson didn’t show up for Friday’s practice, but the reason for his absence didn’t surprise anyone. This is the sixth time Jackson has been sidelined due to illness, since the start of the 2021 regular season. Last November, Jackson failed to show up in Week 11 of the NFL in Chicago since he was too ill. His replacement Tyler Huntley led his team to a 16-13 win over the Bears.

Last year, Jackson repeatedly mentioned not being worried regarding how many times he’s been sick.

“I’ve been healthy all my life,” Jackson said last year. I have never had a problem with any disease so far. I don’t really know what it might be. »
This is the first practice Jackson has missed this year. Due to an elbow injury and a hip injury in weeks three and seven of NFL action, Jackson was not entirely healthy.

The Ravens are heavily favored by 13 points once morest the Panthers. Jackson, who has never faced Carolina, is 26-2 in his first career start once morest a team.

If Jackson is unable to play this Sunday, Huntley would be up for the fifth time in his career.

Smith-Schuster and Hardman force retirement

According to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs will be without their two wide receivers, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman, in Sunday’s game once morest the Los Angeles Chargers.
