NFL guest appearances: Kansas owner Hunt: “Germany is extremely important”

Clark Hunt, owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, has underscored the importance of the German market for the National Football League.

“The way to Germany is for them NFL overall a very big and important story and for us at the Chiefs too. We didn’t secure the marketing rights to do a little bit here and there. Germany is extremely important to us,” Hunt told Internet provider Spox.

The NFL announced that Munich shares four main round games of the best football league in the world with Frankfurt over the next four years. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers with quarterback superstar Tom Brady are already set as one of the two teams for the first NFL game in Germany this fall.

Cooperation with FC Bayern

Whether the Chiefs are also there is still open. “If it’s not that far this year, then definitely next year. We don’t know yet ourselves. Patrick Mahomes is really looking forward to coming to Germany. We’ll see you soon, that’s my message all the fans in Germany,” said Hunt.

Hunt, for the Bayern legend Franz Beckenbauer was one of his first big sports heroes, is also happy regarding the cooperation with the FC Bayern Munich. “It’s an incredible joy and experience for me. It doesn’t matter whether it’s Franz Beckenbauer, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge or Uli Hoeneß, they are all such great personalities with so much know-how,” said Hunt. They would have made sure that FC Bayern “remains a big family despite the rise to a big club in the world. Whether player, coach or employee, everyone feels part of the Bayern family. This approach connects us, that’s us also very important for the Chiefs.”
