NFL: a meeting with the Denver Broncos for Sean Payton

According to Adam Schefter of the network ESPNSean Payton will have an interview with the senior management of the Denver Broncos for the position of head coach of the team.

The 59-year-old Payton was the head coach of the New Orleans Saints for 15 seasons, from 2006 to 2021. He won the Super Bowl in 2009 and finished his stay in Louisiana with a 152-89 record.

At the conclusion of the 2021 season, Payton decided to leave the organization and take a break from coaching in the NFL. As Payton withdrew while still under contract with the team, the Broncos had to seek permission from the Saints to talk to Payton and will also have to pay them compensation if Payton is their new right-hand man.

Denver is looking for a new driver following Nathaniel Hackett was fired following just 15 games and four wins at the helm.

While we had high expectations in Denver with the arrival of Russell Wilson, the Broncos had a terrible season and currently occupy the last place in their division with a record of four wins and 12 losses.
