newyork city workers fired en masse

In New York, Kovid reportedly fired a group of municipal workers who had not been vaccinated. The New York Council has laid off 1,430 municipal workers. This is the biggest action ever taken against workers in the country for not receiving the vaccine.

The New York Post reports that 914 police officers, 36 government officials and 25 firefighters have been fired for failing to receive the first dose of the vaccine. There were earlier warnings that action would be taken against municipal employees who did not receive the vaccine. As part of this, the council sent notices to 4,000 workers who had not been vaccinated.

Covid’s guidelines, formulated during the tenure of former New York City Mayor Bill de Blastio, require that all New York City workers receive at least the first dose of vaccine.
